Named for a Toronto neighbourhood filled with young people in small apartments, Parkdale challenges the proportions of furniture to their limits. The delicate lightness of a seat or tabletop is complemented by markedly slight limbs and a profoundly angular silhouette. One of Mischa Couvrette’s inaugural designs for hollis+morris, the series captures the alliance between wood and metal that has become a celebrated feature of the studio.
